Invacare is pleased to launch its most compact folding powerchair, designed specifically for individuals looking to maintain an active and independent lifestyle. The Kompas can offer support for use at home, the occasional day trips or everyday outings, helping to combat those long and tiring days.
Weighing less than 21kg without batteries, the Kompas is one of the lightest folding power wheelchairs on the market allowing it to be lifted into the boot of a car or into an apartment easily. Combined with how quickly and effortlessly it folds and unfolds, it is extremely transportable and can be easily stored.
Featuring a simple one-step folding mechanism, it collapses effortlessly into an impressive 590x370x810mm bundle without the need to remove the battery pack. Reduced to the size of a typical suitcase, two anti-tippers fold out for easy manoeuvrability and extra support for storage.
Built to last, the Kompas offers an impressive maximum user weight of 115kg whilst being equipped with 8” pneumatic tyres and intelligent electromagnetic braking means that the Kompas is suitable for safe use indoors and outside. Powered by a lightweight lithium-ion battery, getting around is easy with the Invacare Kompas thanks to a travel range of up to 11km (7miles) and a maximum speed of 6.4k/mph (4mph). For additional travel range, an optional larger battery is also available.
Speaking at the launch, Ashton Evans, EMEA Group Product Manager – Scooters & Walking Aids commented: “We are really pleased to be launching the Invacare Kompas into our portfolio. With its compact design and lightweight nature, the Kompas represents an exciting variation to our product range. We are looking forward to seeing how the Kompas’s versatility and ease of use helps to inspire individuals to live as independently and as active as possible.”
